Almost everyone knows how to connect Apple’s iconic earbuds with iPhones, Macs, and iPads within seconds. But very few know that AirPods works magically with Apple TV too. This article will familiarize you with the prerequisites for initiating the pairing procedure and all the possible methods that’ll help you connect both of your Apple devices.

What is the quickest method to pair AirPods with Apple TV

Apple’s technology system allows its users to log in to their Apple ID on all its devices, including the Apple TV. This makes it easier for users to connect their AirPods to an Apple TV, especially if they share the same ID. So if you use the same Apple account on your AirPods and Apple TV, they will pair automatically.

How to check if my Apple TV and AirPods share the same Apple ID

Step 1: Go to the Home screen and open the Settings app on your Apple TV. Press the Menu button on the remote to see all the apps on your screen. Scroll down to find a gear-shaped icon.

Step 2: Open Users and Accounts

Step 3: Verify if the ID registered under your Apple TV iCloud account is the same as the ID you use on your iPhone, Mac, or other Apple devices. Simply sign in to the associated iCloud account, as it will pair the Apple TV and AirPods immediately.

How to initiate the pairing process

Step 1: Put your AirPods in their case and ensure they’re sufficiently charged. Your AirPods should not be paired to any other device.

Step 2: Open the Home Screen on Apple TV. Find the silver-colored Setting app on your Home screen using the provided Apple Remote or your iPhone and click it.

Step 3: Scroll down and find the Bluetooth option in the Remote and Devices section. You’ll see the available in-range AirPods already paired to the TV.  They likely show “Not Connected,” and below that is a section that says Other Device.

Step 4: Pair your AirPods.Gently press AirPods in your ears and press the circular button on the back of the case until the light on the front starts to blink white. Your AirPods will appear in the Other Device section within a few seconds. Use the remote to select them, and they’ll move to the My Device category showing their status as “Connected.” You’ll hear the reassuring chime that confirms that your device is paired with the Apple TV.

How to connect Apple TV to previously paired AirPods

Once you successfully complete the above-mentioned steps, your Apple TV will remember your AirPods the next time you use them.

Step 1: Open the Settings app and select the “Video and Audio” option.

Step 2: Click on your AirPods to begin using them as the audio output.

Step 3: Open the lid of your AirPods case, as it will trigger them to start appearing on the available devices. Now select your AirPods using the given Apple TV remote. Place them gently in your ears, and you’ll hear a good-to-go sound. Additionally, a helpful volume bar will show up to monitor your volume before you wreck yourself by listening to HBO static at unbearable volumes.
